Beginner introductory programs, commonly known as Discover Scuba Diving (DSD), require no prior diving certification or swimming experience. You are taught essential skills in shallow water before descending alongside an experienced PADI or SSI divemaster.
The experience begins with a thorough classroom or shoreline briefing covering mask equalisation, regulator breathing, underwater hand signals and buoyancy basics.
Once geared up with a wetsuit, mask, fins, BCD and scuba tank, you practice basic breathing in waist-deep water. Once comfortable, your instructor personally guides you underwater to observe reefs, sea turtles and schools of tropical fish.

October to May offers optimum visibility (15-30 meters) and calm sea conditions. Practice neutral buoyancy, never touch coral polyps, and leave the underwater environment undisturbed.
